(2) I added a picture of Zorro (for you, Twinville:)
As of this morning, our last calf is on the ground! So it’s time to finish naming these guys…wanna help? (So far we have Zorro, and Dimitry.)
This is calf #3, a handsome little bull calf who started off life in dramatic fashion.
In his closeup you can see he’s got funny little old man hair in his ears! And a cute speckly nose.
So leave your suggestions in the comments of this post. Comments will close at 9 p.m. Central tomorrow (Wednesday).
Winner gets their pick of a 5×7 photo from this collection that I’m preparing for sale on Etsy:
And since Twinville named Zorro, she gets first pick of the pics! (Email me or leave a comment with the name of the picture you’d like.)
Ready, set, go…can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!

Well, ok, I’m so excited that we won something so awesome…your photos rock! But we’re kind of bummed that there are no photos of Zorro to choose from! wah!Our favorite is the one of him all cuddled up dry and fuzzy in the hay.But if we have to choose from the pics you have on your Etsy, we’d choose the Silver Laced Wyandotte (dark). It would look pretty framed in our kitchen. And that little calf. He’s a cutie! My suggestion for a name would be: ‘Mudder’ (for obvious reasons)’Muck'(as in Matt’s Muck’)’Dip’ (his tail looks like it’s been dipped in milk)Thanks again for the special gift!
My contribution would be Bandit, or Don Diego (the secret identity of Zorro)It’s so hard to name calves!!!Kris
P.S. – your photos are absolutely gorgeous!!!!!
QuiltedSimple beat me to “Bandit.” My daughter suggested “Milky Way.” Because he’s a calf.
It looks like he has a black eye. What about Punch or Rocky?
My daughter picked Dominoe because he is black and white with a speckled nose. The speckles of course are the dots on the dominoe she said. He’s a real cutie Sugar:) Congrats Twin on such a great prize!
What about The Mask-it’s white face is so perfect it looks like a mask. Love all the pictures.
I vote for Oscar because he looks kind of grouchy 🙂
The first thing I thought of when I saw him was he looks just like he’s wearing a mask from one of my favorite Shakespeare adapted movies called “Much Ado About Nothing.” I’d call his Revelry.
As commented earlier he looks like he is wearing a theatrical mask and since he suffered a tragedy I would think Shakespeare after the great writer of tragedies.
He started off life in dramatic fashion…How about Monte or Monty after “The Count of Monte Cristo”?
The very first name I thought of was “Kiss”, because that white face reminds me of those guys from the band KISS. :PI also think “Beau” is a cute name, since he’s a handsome little guy.
I like Chaplin,Blackjack and Eightball!
I like Chaplin,Blackjack and Eightball!
So, I am gonna say, Ponds. When I looked at the little dear he made me think of a little old lady with Ponds face cream all over her face.
A beautiful little bull calf, hmmm. How about Barkus, as in “Barkus is willin'” from David Copperfield (the novel, not the magician)A man of few words that knew his own mind.Congrats on the photo win, and thanks for sharing the beauty.kalaska
Oh gosh! He’s fantastic!Okay, the Blue Yonder crowd’s official vote is “Marcel,” as in Marcel Marseau. We think he looks rather mime-ish 🙂
How bout “Beef”? (it’s what’s for dinner) or T-bone or rib-eye.
Woot!!Thanks Sugar Creek! Ya know we’ll gladly accept the pic of our cutie Zorro snuggled deep in the hay. Yay!!My e-mail:Twinville2 @yahoo.com (no spaces of course)
