Winter corn field disappearing into fog
Another pig, smothered under the pile.
And that’s all I really feel like saying about that today.
I googled my own website just now and discovered that I’ve used this same post title on two other occasions:
1 year ago:
Winter ducks
Kelli, *heavy sigh* I adore you! You have never become jaded or cold towards the lost of livestock! KUDOS! That in itself, is a more difficult task than the loss of any animal. My Papa would say you have learned ranching well. You keep on keepin on!
Is it possible to partition the pig passel to prevent a pile so pronounced?
It’s always depressing to loose an animal – hopefully it will warm up soon where you’re at!! Good luck with the rest of your stock.
That cant be something that gets easier. I am sorry.
I’m praying for you guys!!!
Keep your heads up. I know that it stinks losing livestock but I know that passes and the loss of the potential income for your family lasts a while. If I were a customer, I would be willing to pay a bit more, spread out amongst several folks, to help cover your loses so that yall can keep the high quality standards yall produce. I won’t complain about the cold anymore in Texas. I know there is no comparison.
Thanks, everybody! I actually haven’t gotten too down about our losses lately. Fodder for that book I’m going to write someday about how not to farm 🙂
