Mama Said Knock You Out

Madeline at the pitchers mound

I promise, the softball posts will end soon! And then we’ll be back to the farming. But farm girls make the best athletes, don’t you think? 😉

I made Madeline a mix CD iTunes playlist (yes, I’m slowly stepping into the 21st century here), a bunch of songs to get her fired up and ready to compete. I hate to say, “She’s too nice”, like it’s a bad thing, but she is too nice sometimes when it comes to sports.

The funny thing is, out of all the songs I put together for her, the one she likes best is that 80’s old school LL Cool J rap, “Mama Said Knock You Out”. Only she changes it up a bit to “Mama said strike you out!”

Don’t you dare stare
You betta move
Don’t ever compare
Me to the rest
That’ll all get sliced and diced
Competition’s payin’ the price!

I’m gonna strike you out!
Mama said strike you out!

I’m gonna strike you out!
Mama said strike you out!

  2. YES! Farm girls DO make the best athletes. And, that is so awesome you downloaded ‘Mama Said Knock You Out’ for her. That is one of my favorite songs. I love her softball spin on the lyrics. Priceless!

  3. I was so in love with LL. I could start singing that right away.

haha! I just spent the other day looking at MP3 players. My sister has an Ipod and I used it while she was home last time and I discovered how much I was missing out. Only thing is I’m too cheap for an Ipod and I don’t need it to do a bunch of fancy stuff so I think I’m going to get an “off brand”. Plus the fact that I told Tim I wanted to get one and he said sure what are they like 40 bucks. When I told him the prices he wasn’t so happy.
