You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille

Things definitely do not look like this at the farm today! Add 12 inches of snow, subzero temps and 35 mph winds to this scene and you’ll have it.

At least, that’s what I’ve been told.

I left town on Tuesday night, just ahead of the storm, to fly to Las Vegas for a work conference. Good timing, huh?

Just get it all cleaned up before I come home tomorrow night, will you?

Sounds like you left just in the nick of time! The weather in West Virginia has been a wild day today too! We were flooded in this morning. No one made it out to school or work! Then our electric went off for a few hours. We were fine because of our generator. We were having winds at 50 mph+ The weather man says that our temps will drop into the teens tonight and only be in the low 20's tomorrow! Brrrr!

Your post title made me laugh — I didn't think anyone outside of the deep South had ever heard of that song. It surely captures some of the flavor of the farm when the doyenne is away. Vegas, you say?
